More about the town of Caledon:<\/p>\n

Caledon is situated on the N2 national route<\/a>, 113 kilometres (70\u00a0mi) by road from central Cape Town. At Caledon the N2 is met by the R316<\/a> from Arniston<\/a> and Bredasdorp<\/a>, and the R320<\/a> from Hermanus<\/a>. It is also located on the Overberg branch railway line<\/a>, 141 kilometres (88\u00a0mi) by rail from Cape Town station<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Caledon district is primarily an agricultural<\/a> region. Most agricultural activities involve grain<\/a> production with a certain amount of stock farming<\/a>. The town is locally well known for the Caledon Spa and Casino and for its rolling hills and yellow canola<\/a> fields in spring<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The town has a Mediterranean climate<\/a> of warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Temperatures are modified by its close proximity to the South Atlantic Ocean<\/a>, just over the Klein River Mountains<\/a> to the south.<\/p>\n
